Today, 8 August 2019, the IPCC has officially presented its latest special report titled “Climate Change and Land” during the press conference held at the World Meteorological Organization premises in Geneva, Switzerland from 10 am CEST. The presentation was co-organized with UN Foundation within the framework of the Geneva Environment Network.

The special report deals with climate change, desertification, land degradation, sustainable land management, food security, and greenhouse gas fluxes in terrestrial ecosystems.

The report was developed under the joint scientific leadership of Working Groups I, II, III and the Task Force on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories, and supported by the WG III TSU.

103 experts from 52 countries were selected as Coordinating Lead Authors and Lead Authors – who worked on each individual chapter – and Review Editors.
