Mid-Term Review Meeting of GEOCEP Project

The mid-term review meeting of the Global Excellence in Modeling Climate and Energy Policies (GEOCEP) project will take place in Limassol, on Tuesday, 27 June 2023, 09:00-17:00. The project’s participants will evaluate the progress made during the first year of implementation.

The European Research Executive Agency’s Project Officer will evaluate the project with participants. In addition, the meeting will provide an opportunity for participants to network while also conducting a scientific synthesis of the project.

Participants in the project, including staff on secondment, must attend this meeting. It is by invitation only. It will be held in person, but it will also be possible to attend the meeting online.

Roundtable – Peace, resources and the environment

The panel discussion aims to analyze through an economic perspective the complex relationship between peace, resources and the environment. Resource availability and climate dynamics are pivotal elements both in the emergence of conflict and in fostering periods of geopolitical and economic prosperity. Understanding how these factors influence and support the continuation of peace or can destabilize it is critical in order to be able to devise an ethical and effective development model.

FSR 8th Annual Conference on the Economic Assessment of European Climate

FSR Climate is pleased to announce its 8th Annual Conference on the Economic Assessment of European Climate Policies to take place online on Thursday 1 and Friday 2 December 2022.

The conference will cover the main climate-related existing policies at the EU, national, international and sub-national levels. It will include three sessions on Environmental taxationEmissions trading, and Energy Transition. In addition, the conference will comprise a keynote speech from Mar REGUANT (Northwestern University), and a policy session focused on the key outcomes of COP27.

9th Atlantic Workshop on Energy and Environmental Economics

The Atlantic Workshop on Energy and Environmental Economics (AWEEE) is a biennial scientific meeting, born in 2004, which is organized by Economics for Energy with the collaboration of CEPE (ETH Zurich) and CURE (Ruhr-Universität Bochum) and the support of REDE (Universidade de Vigo) and ECOBAS. The workshop has become an important outlet for the discussion and debate on state-of-the-art research on energy and environmental issues, with a limited number of participants who come from all around the world. The AWEEE combines keynote lectures on specific topics by prestigious academics with the presentation of research by invited speakers and by other participants through an open call for papers.

The AWEEE takes place on the pleasant island of A Toxa, in the Northwestern Spanish area of Galicia. The ninth edition of the workshop, due in 2020 but postponed to 2022 because of COVID, will be in-person and will include keynote lectures by Natalia Fabra (University Carlos III) and Lucas Bretschger (ETH Zürich). Additionally, the 2022 AWEEE will have invited presentations and paper discussions by Stefan Ambec (Toulouse School of Economics), Juan-Pablo Montero (PUC Chile), Barbara Praetorius (HTW Berlin), and Beatriz Yordi (European Commission).
